Family Violence Prevention and Recovery

What does the Family Violence Prevention and Recovery Program do?

Doncare's Family Violence Prevention and Recovery Program assists women who have been impacted by domestic violence. We provide specialist family violence counselling; support, information and referrals for emergency relief and case management. Our DAWN Program also provides long-term mentoring for women who are in recovery from domestic violence. To find out more about any of our Family Violence Prevention and Recovery services, please call 9856 1500 and ask to speak to a Women's Support Practitioner.

How do I join a women's support group?

Doncare provides facilitated support and education groups for women who have experienced or are experiencing abuse within a relationship. Read more..

I have experience family violence. My children and I need some help to get on our feet again. Can you help?

Doncare's DAWN (Doncare Angels for Women Network) may be able to help. This program matches trained volunteers to women to in recovery to provide mentoring support for a year. If you are interested in this service, please call us on 9856 1500 and ask to speak with our DAWN Co-ordinator.

How do I find out more about the LiveFree App?

The Live Free App provides information about domestic violence and links to service. To find out more about the app, please email or call us on 9856 1500. We can email you some information but if you would prefer to speak to someone, a member of our Family Violence Prevention and Recovery Program will be happy to talk with you.

My partner is violent. How do I get support from Doncare?

Please call our office on 9856 1500 or email us – be sure to include your telephone number. A worker from our Family Violence Prevention and Recovery program will speak to you and provide further assistance, which may include referral to another domestic violence service.
