Thrive & Connect Social Group

Thrive & Connect is a welcoming, inclusive social group designed to support older adults to build meaningful connections, enhance wellbeing and enjoy life-affirming activities in a supportive community setting.

The program brings together social connection, creativity, gentle movement and evidence-based mental wellbeing strategies, helping participants feel more confident, connected and supported.

Who is Thrive & Connect for?

You are welcome to join if you are:

  • Aged 60+, or 50+ if Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander

  • Living with, or at risk of, mental health challenges

  • Seeking social connection, routine and emotional support

  • Wanting to engage in activities that nurture both mind and body

What to Expect

Thrive & Connect offers a relaxed, supportive environment where participants can engage at their own pace.

Program activities include:

  • Creative therapies – music, art and drama to inspire expression and joy

  • Mindfulness sessions – practical tools to manage stress and stay grounded

  • CBT-informed strategies – everyday techniques to support emotional wellbeing

  • Gentle walks – exploring local parks in a safe, supported way

  • Shared lunches – nourishing food and meaningful connection

  • Outings – comfortable minibus trips to local destinations

Program Details

  • Start date: 2 February

  • Duration: 8 weeks (concludes 23 March)

  • Cost: $80 total

  • Location: Manningham (meeting points confirmed upon registration)
