Counsellors at Doncare are volunteers and have to at least be doing a fourth year, or have completed a fourth year university level in counselling, psychology, family therapy or social work. Many are more highly qualified and choose to volunteer their services at Doncare.

Sometimes you may have to wait a few weeks. However, on some occasions, there will be a counsellor available straight away. Call us on 9856 1500 and ask to speak to the Counselling Co-ordinator to discuss appointment availability.

Doncare's Counselling Program charges minimal fees, based on a client's level of income. Fees can be reduced or waived for clients experiencing financial difficulty. Please call us on 9856 1500 and ask to speak to our Counselling Co-ordinator if you are unable to pay for counselling sessions.

Definitely. Doncare's Counselling Program is a confidential service that includes appropriate professional consultation between the counsellors and experienced Counselling Supervisors. However, Doncare does have ethical responsibilities and serves the right to report serious risk situations to appropriate authorities.
