Staff member, Andrea de Rauch is the Peer Support and Connection Group Coordinator at Doncare, working with women in recovery from family violence. Prior to joining the staff team, Andrea volunteered in the Counselling program for a number of years and was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2021 for her contribution to the development and coordination of group work; initiating the popular MindCalm group, developing group content, facilitating groups, as well as training and supporting counsellors and students.
As well as being a busy Mum, Andrea’s other profession is as an Orthotist. Recently she presented at the 14th O&P National Congress on implementing a reflective supervision program into Prosthetics and Orthotics at St Vincents in Melbourne. Andrea’s abstract was based on results 12mths into the program and she presented additional results at the conference, 18 months post-implementation that showed that 88% of participants reported a significant improvement in the well-being and reduction work-related stress levels.
I was motivated to create this program after experiencing the fantastic group and one on one supervision from Katinka, so a very big thank you to Katinka for her inspiration and wonderful supervision that we experience here at Doncare!

Counselling Supervisor, Katinka Pal-Zimny is retiring in December after dedicating seven years of service. Across the sector, she is highly regarded as a Psychologist and Counselling Supervisor. Katinka has played an integral part in increasing the capacity of Doncare’s Counselling program and has worked closely with Cairnmillar, RMIT. MIECAT, ACAP, LaTrobe University and Swinburne to build counsellors of the future.
