Doncare Opens New Op Shop at Macedon Road

News

We’re officially open!

Doncare was proud to open the doors to our newest op shop in Macedon Road, Lower Templestowe, marking another exciting chapter in our journey to support the local community with purpose and care.

The Grand Opening was a joyful occasion filled with warmth, gratitude and community spirit — and it would not have been possible without the dedication and support of so many wonderful people.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our community partners and supporters who joined us and helped bring this project to life:

  • Bendigo Bank and Manningham Community Enterprises Limited

  • Ian Goldsmith

  • Daniel and Michelle D’Assisi from Noel Jones Doncaster

  • President Anthony Callinan from Rotary Manningham City

  • Councillors Anna Chen and Isabella Eltaha

  • Lee Robson, Andrew Day, Michelle Zemancheff, and Andy Waugh from Manningham Council

  • Our generous landlords, Jessica and Davide Bisignano

  • And to Mayor Cr Deirdre Diamante, thank you for your presence and heartfelt words on the day.

We are also incredibly grateful to our team of volunteers and staff whose energy and commitment brought this shop to life — not only in the weeks of preparation but also on the day itself.

“On behalf of myself and the Doncare Board, I want to extend a personal thank you to:
Sonia, Andrew, Sonia, Angie, Maree, Frank, Grace, Sarita, Betty, Maria, Min, Bich, Tracey, Carol, Subhi, Linda, Judy, Jenny, Anna, Brian, John, Carlos and Peter — your assistance and diligence in setting up the Macedon Road Op Shop did not go unnoticed. The layout of the shop is fabulous, and your warm and welcoming presence was reflected in the many positive comments we received on the day”.

Kylie Scoullar, Chief Executive Officer

Special thanks to Min, Maria, Anna and Betty, who were gracious and enthusiastic hosts, ensuring our guests were well looked after with tea, coffee and canapés. You jumped in with such ease and care, and it was truly appreciated.

“I feel privileged to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate team — people who live out Doncare’s core values and help us strengthen connection, dignity and support in our community”.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this project a success. Here’s to building something truly special in Lower Templestowe
