Manningham City Council has officially renamed the Manningham Civic Volunteer of the Year Award in recognition of the late Doreen Stoves AM PSM JP.

The award will be named the Doreen Stoves Volunteer of the Year Award and recognises the outstanding voluntary contribution made by an individual to the Manningham community. It highlights the sustained contribution of the quiet achievers who often work behind the scenes to build a stronger and more caring society.

"We'd like to acknowledge Doreen's significant contributions to our community. Her name brings great meaning and honour to this award. We hope to continue her legacy now and into the future with this tribute," said Cr Mayor Michelle Kleinert.
