Language of Flowers: Nourish Yourself

At Doncare's Flower Arranging Workshop, participants were invited to slow down and reconnect with themselves through creativity, reflection and the natural beauty of flowers.

Led by Kate, a Counsellor and former florist, the workshop combined the therapeutic benefits of creative expression with the centuries-old tradition of floral symbolism. Participants explored how different flowers have been used to communicate emotions, hopes and personal meanings, selecting blooms that resonated with their own experiences and intentions.

Surrounded by seasonal flowers in shades of pink, lavender, cream and deep burgundy, participants learned fundamental floral design techniques while creating stunning arrangements to take home. The process encouraged mindfulness, allowing each person to focus on the present moment and engage their senses through colour, texture and fragrance.

More than a flower-arranging class, the workshop is an opportunity for self-care and connection.

As arrangements took shape, conversations blossomed around wellbeing, resilience and the importance of making time to nurture ourselves.

Participants left not only with a beautiful floral creation, but with a deeper appreciation for the restorative power of creativity and the simple act of working with nature.

In a busy world, the workshop served as a gentle reminder that self-care can be found in slowing down, making something beautiful, and allowing ourselves time to bloom.
