When unexpected financial pressure makes it hard to cover the essentials, Doncare’s Emergency Relief service can provide practical support for individuals and families in our local community. Our team works with you to understand your immediate needs and help you access support with dignity, respect and care.
Whether you need help getting through the week or support during a difficult period, our pantry is here to help ease immediate pressure.
Short-term support to help you put food on the table when money is tight.
A confidential conversation with our team to understand your situation and explore your options.
We aim to provide choice wherever possible, so you can select food items that suit your household’s needs and preferences.
Our Food Pantry is supported by Coles Forest Hill, Tunstall Square and North Balwyn, along with the generosity of local community members. Partnerships with CareNet, Noel Jones, CityLife Church and St Hilary's Hope help ensure families can access fresh food and essential supplies when they need it most. Together, this network of support helps keep our pantry stocked and our community cared for.

Accessing Emergency Relief starts with a conversation. Our Community Support Workers will take the time to understand your situation and connect you with the right support.
Appointments are typically brief and focused on your immediate needs. You’ll speak with a trained worker or volunteer who will listen, assess your situation and explore available support options with you. You may be asked to provide some basic information about your circumstances, such as identification, proof of address or your concession card.
