Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and in control

Around 1 in 6 older Australians living in the community experience at least one form of elder abuse each year. In Victoria, reports of elder abuse to Victoria Police increased by 18% in 2024.

Elder abuse can happen to anyone. It may be deliberate or unintentional, obvious or subtle, happen once or continue over time. It can occur within families, friendships, caring relationships or any relationship where there is an expectation of trust.

Financial abuse

If someone is misusing your money or assets, pressuring you about banking or financial decisions, involving you in scams, or asking you to change your will, then you are experiencing financial abuse.

If something doesn't feel right, it's okay to ask for help.
