Thrive and Connect

Thrive & Connect

Thrive & Connect is a welcoming and inclusive social group for older adults in Melbourne’s Inner East, designed to strengthen social connection, support mental wellbeing and encourage active, meaningful engagement. Through a blend of creative activities, gentle movement and evidence-based wellbeing strategies, participants are supported to feel more confident, connected and supported in their everyday lives.

A welcoming social program supporting older adults to build connection, confidence and wellbeing through meaningful activities.

Whether you're looking to meet new people, improve your wellbeing or simply enjoy meaningful activities with others, Thrive & Connect offers a safe and welcoming space to connect and thrive.
Thrive & Connect is designed for older adults who would benefit from greater social connection, emotional support and opportunities to improve their wellbeing. The program is suitable for people aged 60 years and over (or 50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples) who may be experiencing loneliness, social isolation, reduced confidence or mental health challenges. It provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where participants can build meaningful relationships, establish a positive routine and engage in activities that support both emotional and physical wellbeing.
Participants tell us that Thrive & Connect helps them build meaningful connections, improve confidence and wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation, and become more engaged in their community. The program provides a supportive environment where people can enjoy social interaction, learn new skills and take time to focus on their own wellbeing.
Thrive & Connect provides a relaxed, welcoming and supportive environment where participants can engage at their own pace and according to their interests. Activities are designed to promote social connection, emotional wellbeing and enjoyment, and may include creative therapies such as art, music and drama, mindfulness practices, practical wellbeing strategies, gentle walks, shared lunches and occasional outings to local destinations. The program encourages participants to connect with others, build confidence and enjoy meaningful experiences in a safe and inclusive setting.
