Support for older people experiencing abuse

Champions for Seniors supports Manningham residents aged 60 years and over who may be experiencing elder abuse. Following a confidential conversation with our team, we work alongside each person to understand their situation, identify their goals and develop a pathway forward. Where appropriate, clients are matched with a trained volunteer mentor known as a Manningham Elder Abuse Community Champion (MEACC). MEACCs provide compassionate, one-on-one support through weekly or fortnightly visits in the home or community. They offer practical assistance, encouragement and advocacy, helping people access legal, financial, health and social support services that enhance their safety, wellbeing and quality of life.
