What to Expect

What is Creative Art Therapy?

Creative art therapy combines counselling with hands-on creative processes such as drawing, painting, collage and clay. It offers a non-verbal way to explore thoughts and feelings, particularly if you’re finding it hard to put your thoughts or feelings into words, or if talking alone doesn’t feel like enough.
Feel overwhelmed, anxious or emotionally stuck Have experienced trauma, including family violence Want a gentler, more creative way to explore what’s going on Are looking to build confidence, self-understanding and coping skills
We work with children, young people and adults, tailoring sessions to suit your needs and comfort level. No artistic experience is needed—this is about the process, not the outcome.
In your session, your counsellor will guide you through creative activities tailored to your needs and comfort level. This may include drawing, painting, collage, clay or reflective exercises. You are always in control, with no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with.
Sessions are client-led and paced to you. Our Creative Art Therapists are respectful of your experiences, and build trust in an inclusive, culturally safe space.
