Doncare has partnered with Safewill through Community Information & Support Victoria (CISVic) to help make preparing a will easier and more affordable for our community.
Safewill is an online will-writing platform designed to support people through the process of completing their will, with access to legal support where needed. Safewill advises that wills completed through its platform receive mandatory, free legal review by a law firm, helping identify and correct issues before the will is finalised.
Free wills until 21 September 2026
At selected times throughout the year, Doncare can offer access to free Safewill online wills.
Safewill runs major free-will campaigns during the year, with additional free-will campaign periods available to participating organisations.
These campaigns help remove cost as a barrier for people who may otherwise put off preparing or updating their will.

Why have a will?
A will gives you the opportunity to record how you would like your estate and possessions managed after your death and who you would like to benefit.
Safewill's online process guides users through key decisions including nominating beneficiaries and deciding whether to leave money, possessions or other gifts.
You can also leave a gift to a cause you care about
While completing your will, Safewill gives you the option to include one or more charities as beneficiaries.
If Doncare has played an important role in your life or community, you may choose to leave a gift to Doncare in your will. Gifts of any size can help us continue supporting local people and families into the future.
Leaving a gift to Doncare is entirely optional and is not required to access either the free or discounted Safewill offer.
Safewill also enables users to browse and add charities during the will-writing process, including more than one organisation if they choose.
Confidence built into the process
Safewill describes its service as more than a basic self-service document tool. Its platform supports more complex wills and provides a pathway to legal assistance where required.
Safewill advises that:
- every will receives mandatory, free legal review;
- around one in four wills is flagged and corrected during review;
- legal services are available for more complex matters such as trusts, powers of attorney, probate and executor support; and
- additional features include options such as Will Share, Family Hub, a Digital Vault and printed wills.

Outside the free-will campaign periods, Doncare supporters and community members can access Safewill at 50% off the usual price.
The current discounted price is $80, normally $160, and is available throughout the year.
